LUCKY 7: seven lines from new works
I have been passed my Lucky 7 by the lovely Laura Wilkinson, fellow writer and Twitter buddy, author of novel, Blood Mining.
Lucky 7 is a bit of ‘blog fun’ for authors. Like Laura, this is my first time being tagged (Yikes!)… why am I thinking school playgrounds and getting ready to jab the unsuspecting person who has drifted off into a daydream… anyway…
The instructions are:
- Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript
- Go to line 7
- Post on your blog the next 7 lines, or sentences, as they are – no cheating
- Tag 7 other authors to do the same
I had a real struggle deciding between page 7 and page 77 so I have cheated… you can have both!
Here is the seven line extract from page 7 of my new children’s book, Buttercup Magic: A Mystery for Megan:
Megan didn’t see Buttercup House until the day
they moved in.
‘We want it to be a surprise,’ her mum said.
And it was a surprise! The house was huge, and
looked… well, tumbledown, as her grandma
would have said.
As she walked through the front door, the first …
And here is the seven line extract from page 77:
The girls walked carefully towards the stream.
Dorothy went ahead a little and then suddenly
stopped and looked back at them.
‘Look,’ said Freya. ‘You’re right, Megan, the
wood has come away a bit. It’s a good job Dorothy
warned us.’
The girls looked at each other in amazement. …
Da – da – deeeerrrrrr!!! I hope that’s given you a little taster. Buttercup Magic: A Mystery for Megan is due for publication on 26th April, but is on sale via Amazon now – see here.
Right… On to the Next Seven
So the final task is to pass this Lucky Seven on to seven authors (and, like Laura, I hope this is not the point at which I lose friends and followers!) :

Please feel free to cut and paste some of the info you need from here, and if you simply don’t have time to do this, that’s fine too. I have really enjoyed doing it though, and thanks, Laura, for tagging me!
